Powitanie polskich przyjació!

A few days ago I received my first copy of Kuchnia Franceski, the Polish translation of Francesca's Kitchen! It was just published in June by Wydawnictwo Literackie, a publishing house in Krakow. Literackie will be publishing my other books over the next year or so.

I'm always excited when one of my stories gets translated and published overseas. Although my books feature Italians and Italian-Americans, I'd like to think that readers of any ethnicity can appreciate what my characters are going through. After all, it doesn't matter who you are or where come from, we all need to be part of a family, to have friends, to share good food and be near those we love and who love us--even if they drive us crazy sometimes!

One of my goals as a writer, the most important one I think, is to try my best to send out some good feelings into the world, to make someone laugh, or maybe just lighten up the day a little for someone who might be going through a bad time. It's really nice to know that I can reach out from my little office and (hopefully) brighten the day of someone somewhere on some faraway shore. So, a big mille grazie!-- or should I say dziêkuj-- to Wydawnictwo Literackie! It's nice to be working with you!

That being said, the BEST news is that the tomatoes in my garden are finally starting to ripen up! I was beginning to think it would never happen. I picked a bunch and last night Corinne made our first really good tomato salad of the season with the olive oil and garlic and basil to go along with a spaghetti carbonara she whipped up.

It was unbelievable.

ciao
